The project DISAWORK and its partnership have successfully completed the development and the implementation of the first round of the DISAWORK Online Training Course, with big pride for its success and with a big “thank you” to all the participants for the commitment and involvement!

The five-week-course has taken place from the 19th of May to the 26th of June and it led us to explore the many aspects of Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace and to reflect upon our own and other people’s behavior in order to improve our capability of turning on those specific skills that can allow us as individuals and as workers to live better in all the situations.

Thanks to its balanced mix of webinars and blended, self-paced learning modules, the participants had the opportunity to interact with the trainers and among others, but also to challenge themselves with the rest of the learning materials.

We would like to remind all the people who missed the live opportunity, that The Training Course will be staying available on the DISAWORK platform and it will be possible to check all the webinars, videos, and learning materials at a personal learning rhythm. The platform can be accessed from the website (https://disawork.eu/), by clicking on the “Start Learning” button in the upper right corner: the only thing that will be needed is to create a personal account and register for the Online Training Course.

The objectives of the online course are:

· Describe and define emotional intelligence and identify its components.

· Apply the concept of emotional intelligence to a workplace setting.

· Demonstrate what makes emotional intelligence different from ‘traditional’ intelligence.

· Identify the ability to manage emotional intelligence skills according to the organizational climate and employees’ creativity.

· Detect dangers and opportunities of those emotions in the productive process.

· Encourage participants to implement better emotional management.

From now until the end of September all the materials will be in English with English subtitles, and after that date, we will also provide Italian, Romanian, German, Spanish, and Greek ones.

The DISAWORK partnership has finally met in Vienna on the 8th and 9th of November to discuss what has been done and what are the next steps of the project regarding the importance of the Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace. But most of all, the meeting has been an important chance for all the people involved to meet in person – after almost one year – and share ideas and feelings in a spontaneous way and in a fruitful atmosphere.

All the foreseen and reached steps regarding the building ground of the project have been the first subjects of the discussion: the State of the Art, a desk research where it is possible to get updated on the situation of the Emotional Intelligence in the partner countries (Austria, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Spain), as well as the Self Evaluation Tool, an online test to discover how much one already knows about the main skills related to Emotional Intelligence.

The partnership will also release soon the last developed output, the Common Report, which is the result of the Focus Groups conducted in all the involved countries to identify the 10 most important emotional skills in the workplace.

Another important part of the meeting has been the discussion about the Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace Training System that will be developed in the next months, as the core of the project.

On 15th of April 2021, all the partners of our project from Greece, Spain, Italy, Austria and Romania attended the second online meeting which had as main objective to analyze the progress of Intellectual Output 1 (IO1), named: „EMOJOBS” focused on identifying 10 basic emotional skills in the workplace. This will be the basis for developing a self-assessment tool.
Moreover, the next steps of project implementation in terms of dissemination plan and strategies, were clearly demonstrated.

All project partners from Greece, Italy, Romania, Austria, and Spain held an interactive workshop on February 12th 2021. The subjects discussed were really interesting and all participants were very active and motivated. The project partners presented data about the actual situation of emotional intelligence in the workplace at national level, paying a special attention to the relevance of soft skills.

The results derived from this workshop are going to be really helpful for the next steps of our project and the flow of the first output.

The consortium our project held the Kick-Off meeting online on January 27th 2021. All the partners discussed about the first steps, set responsibilities and deadlines.

Everyone was excited and willing to achieve our project’s goal about the development and implementation of a social emotional approach in the workplace.

We look forward to the next two full years ahead of us!
